Death seems to have become the poster child of AoS since the malign portents stuff started. Got an entire rework, 3 entirely new factions 2 of which are essentially just subfactions. Worst of all these new bonereapers who are released at the same time as another faction yet that other faction is nearly completly ignored incl. by GW themselves. All of them dominating upon release and still going strong for the most part. Featured heavily in all the fluff. And seems to be a bigger threat than literally any other faction, the only reason they haven't conquered everything yet being due to Nagash taking his sweet time with actually conquering things.

It's kinda weird. Are skeletons and ghost super popular according to GW's research? Is there some GW exec who just loves undeath stuff? Why do they feel the need to throw so much undeath stuff around?

my guess is they are choosing to due releases based on the lore. someone has the story written out and they are developing the toy line based on that, similar to Hasbro and Mattel in the 80's. this might be the Age of Sigmar, but the whole basis for the SCE army is stealing what Nagash believes is his... so they rightfully would be the primary two factions for the story at this point, with every one else just trying to get by and survive the remnants of chaos and the damage they did.

yup if you do want to take him he is acualy a melee deamon 16 wounds 2+ save rerolling 4+ 5+fnp and if you do corner him pop he is gone. and it keeps him in range for hand of dust. not bad for 800 points

Oh man, those battle force boxes look so good!

I love the packaging and the pictures on the box of the little models.

I would want the Gloomspite one, but everyone else is going to want that one as well.

The stormcast is good if you are starting off, but I already have lot's of stormcast, I would just buy the kat evocators.

The Nighthaunt one is pretty bad imo.

Skaven, not very good either, because the models are so old.
 
I went through all of the 40K ones, and this is probably going to be my xmas present to myself this year.

That one just looks amazing. I really think its the best battle force.

Also the new start collecting from Shadowstrike are really nice as well.

The AoS one's not really that intresting to me, except Gloom Spite, but I think that will be sold out instantly anyway. To many people in the world want those squig's.
 
I just read on 4chan (someone posted a photo of the page) that the Bonereapers don't have any allies at all. Not that they need allies, but still strange.
....so in turn that probably means that I won't be able to take their catapults in my Skeleton army. That's a bit sad.

You could try to find some ushabti great bows as their model does offer some surprisingly good shooting. Other than that I can’t think of much else

I mean sure, death can have the focus. But right now everything seems to revolve around them. Plus, the fluff should give plenty of reasons to involve the other factions as well. It's just getting rather extreme. At the very least introduce an undeath faction that isn't aligned with Nagash and is trying to establish a foothold in the chaos of the current war or something. Hell even the SCE have more or less dissappeared from the limelight lately. They're still fairly present in the fluff, but their last release was their chamber with the start of the soul wars. Whereas undeath has had 3 entire subfactions since the start.

well those are just dissapointing...
Skaven is basicly just the clan pestilence army (which itself is just the start collecting box + a verminlord) with some extra nonsense tagged on.
Grot one lacks focus, would've been better if it was just a box of trolls, or just squigs, or something. Just seems like they throw some random stuff in the box and called it a day.
Nighthaunt looks similarly incoherent.
The sce box is the only one that looks like a vaguely interesting combination of units.

O that's a nice one. Better at least than the current chaos space marine start collecting box which is a bit limited in what you can actually build from it.

if that nid box is more than 110 its a rip. they used to sell "THE SWARM" which made everything there minus the tyrant but plus three warriors. its actually how I got my start in the nids. GW messed up the packaging and sent me the wrong sprues for the carnifexes, so they sent me the correct ones in a separate box and instead of two carnifex I got 4 (cuz of the way the top half and bottom half of the model are distributed on the sprues.
