It's the story from the forbidden power book, which is the little book that came with the endless spell bridge & boat, as well as Sigmar's magical engine thing.where is this story, because this is 100% against their established lore. do you have a link or the book name?
Fair enough, though I think this particular example takes it a bit far. This isn't just an example of a mercenary being a bit less noble and choosing to fight for the "bad" guys, it's a mercenary switching sides mid-battle, and inexplicably going way further then even the bad guy asked for, simply by being bribed. Mercenaries that do that tend to not live very long. Plus, you'd think the other fyreslayers would immeadiatly wipe them out as it completly ruins their good name and a mercenary who no-one trusts won't get any work. So they'd be a massive liability for them as well. One thing to bear in mind with all this is that all these factions (particularly those of Order) tend to have all sorts of subfactions that usually have varying levels of morality. In Idoneth for example there’s the main one (Ionrach I think) which makes all sorts of deals and agreements with the rest of Order, while there’s also a bunch who just take souls whenever they feel like it. I’m pretty sure that it’s been established somewhere that there are some Lodges that are incredibly noble (I think I remember reading about one which the others all hate because they help people for free and it drives down prices) and others who will literally just do anything for Ur-Gold - you can ally the Greyfyrd with anyone in game with mercenary companies, including Nagash, so it doesn’t seem too far fetched that there would be at least one Lodge like that.
