Well, it always easy to say you don't like something after the suggestions have been made and the works been done. I still think you did the right thing. a metal symbol would have just been meh. Easily forgotten. But if you make it glow... Now that's cool.

I like the crystalline suggestion as well. It's unexpected. It would catch your attention and be something you remember as your working on a project. "Oh yeah, I remember seeing something really cool once that would look awesome here!"

I like the suggestion of trying out object source lighting... a warpstone like effect. I haven't decided if I want to go with warpstone green or another colour like blue or purple. I've narrowed it down to those 3 colours. Suggestions?

As it's a Tzeentchian icon I'm putting my vote down for blue :p

Here is the painted Tzeentch symbol. :):):) I think it turned out okay. Failed my cold-blooded leadership test... turns out I'm not brave enough to try object source lighting on it (that technique will have to wait for another day). I decided to put a gloss varnish finish over the symbol to give it a sort of magical aura effect.

Maybe it's just the picture but I miss some lighter highlight on the blue flame thingy in your stone. Good work otherwise. Your disc is amazing, looking forward to see the result. Must be s treat to show these things to others when you play :D

Thanks! As for highlights, the base tone is "Mordian blue", the mid tone is "Enchanted blue", and the highlights are increasing amounts of "Ice Blue" mixed with enchanted blue. The highlights are subtle... it might be that the gloss and the bright light shining on the model may be obscuring it a bit... or perhaps I could have applied the highlight over a slightly larger area .

Thanks for the comments on the disc... this disc is a slightly more simplistic one (I left out the inner details) than the wooden one I have pictured in a previous post. This one was cut out of acrylic which is a bit more resilient than wood at such small thicknesses. Unfortunately I have yet to be able to replicate the same accuracy cutting acrylic that I can cutting wood.
