Yes indeed! Woke up 4 hrs later...of course haha
They're in the Warhammer 2004 Chronicles Lost Valley of the Carnosaurs.
Ahhh, the same place as the Thunder Lizard and Coatl. Yeah?
So I could see it being a Great Wyrm for sure, "Great Wyrm" being a Human term and "Quetzeldon" as a more Lizardmen/Seraphon term/more official
Which makes sense given that in my Lore my Star Seer literally ripped the Dragon Isles out of the ocean and took them to Space and eventually Ghur
Wow, never heard of this. I'll need to look it up.
Always upset me that there wasn't a flying equivalent of a dragon in Lizardmen.
Same, hence the Quetzeldon. I forgot about the Great Wyrm, I have read this before but forgot! I now have the pdf saved to my google drive lol this is where I got some info about the Thunder Lizard too
I started a thing... a Magmadroth & Phoenix hybrid. This is either going to look amazing or really dumb! Haha
Sometimes I feel I am the Lizardmen/Seraphon equivalent of Clan Skyre and Clan Moulder putting all these kitbashes together for my Seraphon...
Plastic Surgery is just a lot of fun
Now to decide which head to use...I have 5 different monster heads...
Phoenix, Magmadroth, Carno, Troglodon, Stegadon (no horn left)
Cleaning towards Troglodon (modified) and the Phoenix Head.
(This kitbash might be for a different race that I start in the future)
Awesome Stuff, as always
Small does not appear in your vocabulary
How did you connecties the Wings to the legs?
Thank you! One of these days I might do a small conversion haha these ideas just come to me and i just...fly...with it.
As for heads, I think the Magmadroth head would look awesome, but not entirely unique. Kinda like the idea if a Phoenix head...but a Troglodon head would make a good Wyrm feel...
pictures of wings:
Glue atm and cutting, lots of cutting. Next step for the wings is greenstuff work (model in general needs it too). Using the Phoenix legs as my arms
Well done! the claws weren't visible from above, but I like it. A real Magmagriph look
If that is the goal I would go with the Phoenix head.
Can you give picture with the troglodon head? Hard to imagine right now.
Will He get a Rider? Skink or Fyreslayer? Or something else?
That is the question...
Possibilities in my head are: Skink, Aelf, Fyreslayer, maybe a Human Mage/General type
I can get better photos later tho, these are kinda hard to see but give the general idea
Leaning Phoenix the more I look at them
Really love this name idea
Chimeradroth was also suggested with a backstory which oddly enough was kinda aligns with what I had ib my mind about Ghyran/Ghur transforming stuff:
"Phoenician Chimerodroth; in the mountains close to Phoenicium, the Ur-phoenix magical energies coupled with the lifegiving power of Ghyran has begun changing the long lived creatures of the region. Magmadroths exposed to this for centuries can be seen sprouting fiery wings, much like the phoenixes themselves. The name harkens back to the chimera, a monster who is an amalgation of several different beasts."
Update on the kitbash
It definitely needs more greenstuff but this is the "final mock up" and I'm pretty happy with it!
Thinking at the moment a Ghyran theme and the frost phoenix tail feathers being painted like a peacocks feathers and the neck feathers being colorful also
And we are ready to prime once the weather clears up! Admittedly I'm going to check it over one more time and make sure no more greenstuff is necessary lol
I think im classifying it as a type of Earth/Life Dragon or a Purified Cockatrice...
*Placed and shackled to a ancient great white oak named ______ the Cockatrice is forced to bear the weight of not only the life gifted priests but powerful realmstones and their magic as well*
During battle prized beasts of Chaos are captured by the Temple Host of the Blood Moon and brought back to the Temple City. There they are caged and prepared for a journey from Ghur to Ghyran to a sacred ritual spot.
Started a base!
Made a nest and a few eggs with left over greenstuff
Great idea, I was already wondering how he/she would be positioned on a base.
Ill post some pictures when she can be more easily positioned, but her back legs will make contact with the rock with her leaning up (tail wont make contact with base) in a more natural rearing back pose.
This is the start of a new Side Project for my Temple Host, an army called "The Purified" or "The Pure". The backstory is powerful priests, with the help of beast handlers and saurus, capture chaos beasts during battle ajd then purify them at a sacred spot. Once purified they use them against Chaos as the beasts hunger to ravage those who corrupted them.
In a nutshell
