The looming excitement that might be TW warhammer II

Hey guys two things:

1. Woogity is confirmed as the lead model designer for creative assembly. This explains the kroxigors.

2. I need help getting my computer fixed up for tomb kinga

well that's kinda cool.

What do you need?

On a sidenote, has anyone managed to get anywhere with the lizardman in the game. I keep running into the fact that their starting position is attrocious alongside their horrible economy. So I never really get going in the starting stages, it's just a neverending cycle of rushing my one army all over the place in an effort to not be overrun while praying to god I make some money to actually build something. This is made doubly annoying by the fact that if I play on an easier difficulty especially the battles become far too simple, which isn't fun either. Anyone have more succes than I have had so far?

edit; so far I've had one vaguely succesfull campaign, but that one got ruined because during the third ritual the chaos troops spawned in the middle of my empire and 3 full doomstacks are a tad much for evn a well developed garrison, so they basicly raized half my empire while the armies I had on guard at the border had to make a beeline back to try and catch em...

Always leave a lord sitting in your home base and make a beeline for recruitment capacity stuff. When the doomstacks pop raise an army with him and use it as a reactionary defense force while recalling border armies.

I need to build a budget rig that will play Warhammer 2 well. I'll be recycling/reusing a gtx970 that's in my current rig, and I might slave a 500 GB hard drive but need everything else, including a case.

I mannish to get to that point as well, I actually defeated the main force of Chaos, but then my game crashed  So I haven't played much since then :P

It's annoying, it was the one game where my éarly game didn't go awefully. My allies actually did something usefull, the aggresive neighbours jumped eachother for a change instead of all ganging up on me, people actually wanted trade agreements etc. Whereas in my other attempts I'm just running around all over the place trying to stop 5 different factions from invading and putting down constant rebellions while praying to god to actually make some money so I can actually build a second army, or god forbid, build a recruitment building for something other than saurus and skinks (why do we need freaking tier 3 builings to recruit anything more advanced than basic infantry...). Makes me wish back for total war rome where you could actually start with more than 1 city & you didn't have the limited slots in a city but could build everyting there eventually, worst case scenario you just sit in your one city till you can recruit something decent there...

i'm extremely dad I'm only 1 3rd of my way to my goal for upgrading my computer. :(

no Tomb kings for me yet.....

@Canas I've made it extremely far in several Lizardmen campaigns and never had the problems you've described, other then the Chaos invasion spawning in the middle of my empire and gutting it. Which Lord are you playing and what early game directions have you chosen?

Usually Krog'qar, with mazdamundi I basicly get nowhere as 10 turns in he tends to be at war with skaven dark elves and orruks and a roaming faction for no apparent reason. I usually try to unify the starting province immeadiatly, get the golden tower and then continue south to kick out the remaining skaven. Only 1 province will have military buildings the rest is focussed on economic. Still the economy rarely if ever gets going.

Might also be that I'm using the SFO mod, as I just saw a post that claimed that one of the points of SFO was that you can't field a large mount of armies and I did just find a submod that should make that a tad easier.

Miracle of miracles I managed to get some economy going and actually get somewhere. Especially once I managed to get those 3 isles to the south-east (why the hell do those add so much income...) However, I now got to run into the High elves confederating like deranged lunatics... anyone found any mods so they don't end up with at minimum twice the amount of cities of the second largest empire?

@Canas Yah SFO massively increases unit upkeep which explains your poor economy. I wound up getting rid of it. Tor Elisor and the other Islands are all ports and at lest one is an elven colony which increases port income, plus that one Lizardmen tec. I'm playing a campaign as Itza and Avalorn, Saphery, and Nagarythe wiped out the other High Elf factions and this amuses me.

Meh, such a shame I can't get SFO for just the combat and skills portion. Cuz that feels a lot better with them...

I don't think I've seen the high elves even get attacked at any point. To be honest I don't get how they thought giving the AI a confederate bonus was a smart idea in combination with mechanics like the vortex... At least in the case of domination I could eventually just conquer the stuff as the AI is generally "stupid"...

Oh, Tretch Craventail is also coming tomorrow.

I agree, it is silly that SFO doesn't have individual mods for people who don't like the whole package. Although I actually like vanilla combat better.
AI confederation is particularly cancerous with the Dwarves. In my Itza campaign the Dwarves conquered like 70% of the Eastern half of the map and then declared war on me when I asked for trade.

Meh, vanilla has weird progression between units, or least did so in the first game. Since the amount of units is much smaller than in historical games you don't have nice progression from say hastati to legionaires as in Rome. Saurus aren't an "upgrade" to skinks in the same manner. SFO tends to fix this by just keeping everything relevant(-ish). Still some issues with for example bastillidon's showing up as end game units leaving lizardmen with basicly just infantry till the mid-game... Also, SFO does magic a lot nicer.

Mwha, the dwarves at least tend to stick to their own in my game. Plus generally I can just beat larger empires by being better :p. It's mostly an issue with the elves as they then basicly win the vortex campaign by default.
