The never-ending battle against woke Hollywood and SJW infused entertainment media [trigger warning]

Well done Bernard for speaking out against that perversion of Tolkien lore. Good to see he's using his own brain and channelling a bit of his own Middle-Earth character in the fight against wokism.

A bit off topic, as it is not about wokeness, but since we've discussed the DCU on this thread previously, I thought this was the best place for it. Sad news...

Well, at least he's exercising his backbone and standing up to the wokists. It's them that are to blame for the deaths of so many fan-favourite franchises, not him, and it's better than if he just kept quiet and allowed them to use him to desecrate the Superman character by giving him woke plots to have to follow.

Never heard The Drinker say "go away now" with such a bitter tone.

ditto. Maybe he is secretly a big Willow fan.

I liked to original Willow a lot. I'm not going to pretend it is a cultural phenomenon like another beloved franchise is.

For a low to medium budget niche movie, Willow was well done and my friends and I quote it a lot. It arguably launched Val Kilmer's and Wartick Davis' career.

This is our favorite scene from the movie..

When I run RPGs and am I asked a question I don't know off the top of my head, I'll roll one or more dice, stare at them and then come up with an answer that has nothing to do with what the dice say, and this has become our running gag.

If I'm taking a while to answer a question, they'll ask me what the bones tell me or if I need to stall for time I'll play out this scene and say dramatically "I will consult the bones!"

And we may have a winner (at least tentatively)...

If true, this is pretty big!

It's concerning that Amazon are trying to get their greedy mitts on Warhammer given what they did to Middle-Earth, but then we do know how voracious GW is at defending their intellectual property and how passionate Henry Cavill is for Warhammer, so perhaps these two immovable objects will halt the unstoppable force of Amazon's desire for wokism.

I don't doubt that, but GW can also aim for woke. Especially the last 6 lines of this statement resonate a strong deja-vu and not in a positive way

That is certainly a fair point.

Let's just hope that Mr. Cavill remains immune to woke BS and lays down the line for any Warhammer productions that ensue in that case.

I want a serious rendition of 40K to succeed, but I don't expect it will.

To be honest, I never got into 40K and I can't explain why that is, but I still would rather media about be good than not good.

I'm not sure Amazon can make good things right now though I liked the Tick (which didn't get renewed) and I hear good things about Jack Reacher and the one new IP superhero show.

I'm kind of bugged about Jeff Bezos kowtows to the CCP but even if that were not the case, I still wouldn't sign up for Amazon Prime because it simply fails the cost/benefit test for me.

I guess if they made a good Warhammer 40K show I would sign up for one month to binge watch that series and the one or two others I hear are actually good and then unsubscribe.
