The Shrine to Lost Armies

Disagree, you don't want anyone type of unit to be unplayable in the game, especially the models that are often army centerpieces.

Cannons should be less accurate... plain and simple. The way they were written in 8th made them laser guided sniper rifles.

I feel that Monsters should have been given the same Ward Saves that apply to their riders, as you can’t give anything Monsters to give them wards but you can give magic items to their riders, and I thought a nice thing would be to have the Ward save act as a magical bubble that protects both the monster and the rider (as that’s how I view Ward Saves - as magical bubbles that envelop the target and are visible whenever anything touches it). Also I don’t know if healing spells can be used to target monsters specifically or if they only target the character on top.

Also cannons have been like that in Fantasy at least since 7th as that was when I first started playing.

Me too, but I found the books and read.

Warmaster was fun to play

I haven't played that either. I do have a Warmaster Slann though!

I have a PDF version I can share on this thread. I’ll put the link up next time I’m on my laptop (on my iPad at the moment)

I have the paperback version

I sadly missed out on the paper version as I only started becoming interested in it after GW had jettisoned it out of the specialist games section along with all the original versions of other games. :argh:

Any chance of GW bringing it back? :nailbiting:

Probably not... :(

No, but there is a burgeoning market of 6 and 10mm fantasy figures

So what you're saying is that you want to face my Tzeentch Chaos Lord on his dragon with both rider and mount enjoying that sweet sweet 3+ ward save (rerolling 1's)? :D

Be careful what you wish for!

At least in 7th you had to guess range. Sure people got pretty good at guessing, but at least it added a little bit of uncertainty to the equation.

I liked the guessing mechanic

Speaking of pdf versions, does anyone have a high quality scan of the Khemric Titan rules from the Monstrous Arcanum book? There is an out of focus one floating about google images and another blurry one in a Monstrous Arcanum pdf that is floating about, but I have yet to find anything better. It is two pages in total.

Damn it I had one and now I don't know where I put the damn thing

Trouble occurred - the Warmaster basic rules PDF is too large (8.4 MB compared to the maximum 7.9 allowed), and somehow only reduces in size by less than a MB if I zip it. Sorry about that fellas.

I found one here - hope this helps:

Certainly looks a great addition to the Tomb Kings army with 10 wounds to help it last longer.

But Warriors of Chaos are OP anyway - I'm talking about an Oldblood on Carnosaur not getting his Carnosaur shot out from beneath his legs before it can wreak havoc in combat, stuff like that, for armies that are not broken. Seriously, GW needed to amend WoC to make them less ridiculous before the End Times hit us.

That's what I still do - I didn't notice any 8th Edition changes.

The effort is appreciated, but that is the copy I had found previously via google images. It just isn't clear enough to make out. I have a pdf version that is a little better, but even that copy is very far from good.

Thanks anyways for taking a look.

WoC are OP, but your proposed changes would make them virtually unstoppable. Even the Oldblood + Carno might be a bit too strong. Once it made it into combat, it would be extremely difficult to defeat with its 4+ & 4++ saves. I think infantry units would be greatly diminished under such a system; unfairly so in my opinion.

At the very least, the cannon shot should be randomized between the rider and mount. It makes no sense that it affects both of them.

Could you by chance upload it to something like Megaupload and post a link?

I didn't know that it affected both rider and mount. That would actually be unrealistic because either the mount would take the full force of the cannonball and die but the rider would be spared, or the rider would take the full force of the cannonball and be knocked off his mount. I agree that randomising would make it more fair.
