The stealing is an ability from the curseling exclusively right?
Yeah. I am a bit sad about that.
And also about the realm magic thing. Unless all spells are equally cool you can hardly build up a tactic using those spells (since you don't know the realm you will be fighting in). So I hope there will be a nice number to choose from in any realm, and not just one or two.
I also think that it wouldn't have been necessary to nerf mystic shield.
I feel like that could hurt us a lot. I'll have to do the math on it though, it might actually not matter much.
But what I like about it: Certain units that already have that as a skill - like SCE Liberators - don't profit from mystic shield anymore. Right now a SCE player can easily achieve 2+ and rerollable 1s as saves on multiple SCE units if they bring a wizard as an ally. (They have a prayer that is the same as mystic shield, and can put mystic shield on another unit (or even stack them).
The arcane bolt thing... well, it hurts for us since we don't have too many possibilities to generate mortal wounds otherwise. Thinking about the game I played on Monday vs. SCE: How am I supposed to kill a Lord-Celestant on Dracoth without using magic?
That guy has a 2+ save and rerolls 1s, and using the new Look Out Sir! rule he will lower my hit rolls as well. That's pretty much unkillable without using mortal wounds.
Also interesting: Now that they made mystic shield and arcane bolt a bit weaker: Maybe the Rule of One for magic will fall?
