Blog Back to Lizzies new and old. Also 40k?

Ok so update! I've been jobbing and painting less but I'm still making progress.

First up Sandy and her siblings . I've been experimenting with some warm browns on th belly and the skinks have been fixed up with nice teal skin. Probably going to copy the Stegadon crew with a teal and yellow pattern. You can also see a certain savage orc that has displeased me and been set aside under the viscious wings of Sandy.

Next some 5th ed projects, first plastic saurus warriors unit repaint 1 of 3. Trying a denim blue and yellow brown scheme inspired by the 5th ed codex cover. You can see the yellow is coming along and is the current focus of my work. Also that poor green arm needs to catch up :sIMAG0295.jpg

Finally I once upon a time chopped the head off a metal champion to make Kroq..... no not Kroq gar just Kroq. A 5th ed special character with giant plated backs and giant crocodile jaws that deal D3 wounds. Unfortunately my chosen head was very derpy I was also trying to make something of a great weapon which didn't really work either or look natural at all. So I was down a head and a crescent sword arm :/.

So I've been trying to update that with some more modern bits and referring back to the conversion ideas page in the 5th ed codex. So what have I been mucking with.

We have Kroq gar's head whittled down some to better fit against the body and a crest chopped down to be plated scales without the modern crestes. Taking an idea from the conversion page the head of a savage southern avian perhaps a tzeench worshiper is forming the headdress held in place with a spike from the standard bearer. I've given up on a great weapon and taken the nice sickle blade of the Tik Toq to model. Lots of old models had crescent blades and shards of bone strapped to handles. So the curved jaw bone of a mighty beast seems appropriate. Still working on a shield arm, not sure if I want to embrace scales or more traditional 5th ed metal work.

That teal looks amazing with that yellow! Great vision there! Can't wait to see you finish the conversion on that saurus.

They all look great! But I specially like the saurus conversion :p

Yes the conversion looks cool! And I like the 5th sauri! Look really good!

Nice to see so many classic models! Great painting! Keep up the good work

The 5th edition Saurus heroes were so great! Good painting on them! I love their feather heavy headdresses ;)

They're a nice change of pace painting wise ^.^

Good stuff! That's how 5th edition saurus should look like! ;)

Nice!

So what about the bases? :p
I do have my lustria undergrowth and i should really dig out my aquarium plants (though i don't want to overdo that). Need to get sme rocks I think. I'll be going back and finishing the bases. Anyway :)
