AoS NEW *rumor*

given that we can regularly get an easy +2 to cast, we can likely expect this to go up to potentially a +3. I could just be spit balling, but they've put a ton of hype into the kroak rework
his point is that credible roomers are stating that all bonuses will be limited to +1

It might befitting if our "magic quirk" regarding Slann, and Kroak in particular, were to keep adding our +to cast/dispell from various sources. It's not as fun or creative as some of the other factions but purely useful. *inseet missing shrug emote*

The leaks are interesting. This and that looks pretty good, or meh. Disappointed in some of the abilities of the Lady of Nightmares and the alt version of her. I would have hoped that such a model might get more.

Ah well, not like I'm picking up 100+ zombies. Never again.

3.0 limits +s to casting to +1 so best case scenario they get it 1/3rd of the time
welll... that rather limits it...

and the much better lore of deathmagic

Those look rather nice.

That certainly guts Nagash and Lords of Change if true. Even more than us.
LoC doesn't rely on +X to cast though, they rely on their always rolling doubles mechanic. So they shouldn't be all that limited to a +1 to cast.

something to keep in mind ist hat 40k only limits +1/-1 on hits, wounds and saves. Not all bonuses are limited, and i imagine the same will apply to aos as well.

That's wrong, saving throw modifiers are not limited. I can't remember if there is a way currently to get more than +1, but armor penetration of -2 or better is obviously a thing in 40k, and way more prevalent compared to AoS.

If +1 to cast was the cap, that would actually be very easy for us to adapt to. If anything it saves us points on an Astrolith bearer. And frees us from using Sage's Staff on a Slann.

On another note, does the soulblight book really have enough synergy with Nagash to justify 985 points? That's a mind boggling price.

Imperial Guard has ways of doing that, funny enough. You can make guardsmen with terminator saves. 2+/4++

I thought LoCs got a +2 to cast at top bracket? Am I thinking of 40k LoCs?

And I forgot Rubric Marines/Scarab Occult Terminators, "All is dust" gives them +1 saves when being attacked by weapons with D1. So the Termies have 0+ in Light Cover. Still one of the weakest armies currently, but for the lolz and all that :)

So, are all the Stormcast supposed to be wearing the new "pierce the evil cloud" Thunderstrike armor? Or is it just the two new kits and the rest of the Stormcast are shit-out-of-luck? lol

Sigmar's being a bit stingy with the whole "save the souls of the most righteous and deserving, truly good and heroic people"
these are clearly more righteous and deserving.

But yeah, it's a bit random...

Seems like weapon options are becoming largely cosmetic only, skeletons also don't have different profiles anymore, much like the blood knights:

Also, lauka vai has a neat ability, nice and thematic and it actually has an associated malus when it kicks in for once.

Skeletons with only one weapon? Idk if that profile is really a buff or nerf. While it is objectively better on the hit and wound, losing 2 inch range hurts. It will be interesting to see as we get witness them rolled out on table top.

that said, uness they get some buffs most of our battleline shouldn't have too much trouble disposing of them.

It's a definite nerf for skeleton hordes. Short of any horde bonuses, skeleton units are going to lose a lot of attacks due to being limited to 1" melee range.

The whole +1/-1 in 40k is only limited to bonuses and maluses to "to hit".
You can stack more than a bonus, to negate a malus and still have your +1, but you won't go past that.

Someone needs to read the core rules again :P

(Wound rolls are also limited.)
