AoS NEW *rumor*

They're scared on how to do it with some characters getting mount traits along with their warscroll would be hard to balance
I mean sure, but we've had universal variants of nearly every other "enhancement" by now; artifacts, traits, spells, prayers etc. So what makes universal mount traits so different that they're the only exception?

leaving aside that the only balanced thing in GW games is the models... there are already armies with mount traits, so i really don't see the issue if you introduce 3 universal traits. it's literally the only enhancement that doesn't have the universal version, and it's not that hard to give limitations, in the same way named characters cannot have artecacts.

I find this statement insulting to Hormegaunts. They still fall over.

That is all.

Hilarious.

ETA When I first got into these games a few years ago, the first thing I did was drop a silly amount of cash on metal Sisters of Battle. I have three metal Penitent Engines that took me ages to build and mount in such a way that they didn't fall over (or collapse under their own weight). Thankfully, one day not soon after that, my wife came into the GW shop with me and wandered over to the other side. Then she came up and said, "Look at these cool magic dinosaurs! You should play this game!"

Sounds to me that you are a lucky bastard, so stop whining :p

????? literary connections. I am confused

I think he's referring to the link I included there to my wife's website (she's a NYT best selling author). I'm actually a full time writer myself and have been a finalist for the Hugo, Nebula, World Fantasy, and Theodore Sturgeon Awards. My first book was a Forgotten Realms novel, hah! I just turned in the first of a two-book contract to Tor. None of which has to do with AoS rumors so I shall leave it at that!

You are employed by wizards of the coast?

Wow! Well done for your awards! Feel free to join us in the next short story competition! (even though you'll probably beat the pants off us :) it's always great to have new contribution!)

Oh, no. Very few people who write work-for-hire novels are "employees" of the owners of the intellectual property they're writing in. In the gaming world, the only ones I can think of off the top of my head are Bruce Cordell at TSR/Wizards and I don't even remember which lines he wrote in. And James Sutter wrote a couple of (excellent) Pathfinder novels when he was still at Paizo. (Neither of those guys work for those companies anymore.) But even then, the relationship is closer to a company/contractor one than employer/employee. There aren't actually any active Wizards of Paizo fiction lines at the moment, unless you count Bob Salvatore's books, which are now published by an arrangement with an NYC publisher. Actually, GW may be the only game company of any particular note that has a thriving novel line at the moment.

Anyway, my Realms novel was, goodness, eleven years ago and was set during an unpopular edition change so it kind of disappeared. My recent(ish) short story collection was much better received.
