Those Fireborn look awesome!
I can totally relate! Keep going. Thanks!
Again, constantly shocked that I'm painting something I don't hate afterwards!!!![]()

Maybe just needs a quick highlight with some light greys, but I think it looks good as is.Thanks @Imrahil !
So, I'm in a quandary about a point on this style of painting.
The Lizette of Renown (wifey) told me that she thinks that the white band at the bottom of the miniatures looks like it's just been missed on painting rather than the beginning of the flame. I tried this on Fireborn #4, 5 and 6 and I think it does actually look better.
What do you guys reckon?

I agree with Nightbringer, pure white is too pure - when I tried flames I left just a teeny tiny bit of white and quickly moved into the other colours.
They're all looking great, you should be really chuffed!
Also agree on the use of pure white. A really light grey, or the next "white" down the scale would help pass the effect.
They look great, outside that very minor nit-pick detail!
Cool lava bases! I look forward to seeing the result.![]()
So, did the Flashgitz Yellow highlights on the lava base and did a coat of black over the armoured areas.
So these three are ready for drybrushing and the PVA/Mordant Earth combo.

Onwards and upwards! Painting the rest of an ARMY is pretty daunting, but I'm trying to just keep going, at least "slow and steady wins the race" type of mentality.
