Good stuff... keep going. Can't wait to see these guys finished!

Thanks mate! I'm super nervous about the next step, but I figured (hope) the only way to get better at painting is to: 1) paint, 2) learn some more from YouTube, 3) keep doing 1 and 2 until I eventually can turn out something I'm happy with.

Got started last night. First coat of Iyanden Yellow took longer than I thought it would. Now hopefully tonight I can do the layers of orange, red and black.

Looking really good, yellows can definitely be a pain! Keep it up, lookin rad

Finished the flames and did second coat of black in preparations for drybrushing the armour.

Really happy with the result to be honest! I was expecting it to go horribly wrong due to my inexperience as a painter.

For sure! Here it is. I found it super-helpful as a fledgling painter as it was definitely something that I thought was realistic for me to do.

I didn't get it anywhere near as good as his, but I'm happy with it which genuinely surprised me.

So dry-brushed the black iron sections to make it seem like they were heated. I tried doing yellow outline with the paint that I have on the axe, but it didn't come out.

So this guy is done for now, bar the basing. Need to relook up that thread. @Imrahil which one was it that had the broken rocks with lava effect? and which technical paint was it?

It was mentioned in my Painting thread, but I there are a lot of tutorials on YouTube for it.
for the crackling the trick is: the thicker you apply it the harder/bigger it cracks.
