Blog Ritual's Army - Lizard on Lizard Action (For the Waaaaagh!)

I just posted this in another thread, but I want to paint something with the feeling of Lamb of God's video for Ghost Walking.

Watch it on mute if you're not into metal, but it's a really good video.

Not the graphical style, just the feel of it. I think Skitarii would allow that... Paint them up with a weathered look, and give them a desert style base.

My issue with necrons is the lack of variety. Though I must admit the tomb stalker things that you can get from Forge World look AMAZING.

At least necrons are super easy to paint. Airbrush prime with silver, wash with nuln oil, dry brush with something and then paint some green and you're done.

That sounds tempting.

I just read up on some of their rules and they sound rad as heck.

Godamnit. I'm going to have to paint a thousand necrons.

Was in the local GW at 9am to pick up my 8th Ed stuff, manager asked if I wanted to paint a Primaris marine for him... Well it was rude to refuse and 4 hours later here we are.

So many distractions in store, never doing that again!

The marine looks good, nice Space Wolf colors.

Also is that a standard base for the new models? That is a ton of detail!

Painting one of these guys is a big lure...

The tomb lurker-things from Forgeworld are beautiful models, just so expensive!

It would look fantastic as a centerpiece, I am just not sure how big they are.

They are the standard bases for the free ones they give away in store to people who come in to be taught how to paint. We might get one free in white dwarf at some point....

I'll get one of the tomb stalker dudes in a month or two and we'll see how big they are!

Do your Necrons really dark metallic grey (almost black) and white with a hint of yellow/green glow

Yellow/Green isn't black and white! I am talking pure black and white, not quite noir in it's level of hard lines, but certainly hard highlights. I think it'd be a fun challenge to have to use textures instead of colour.

With the white I mean almost pure white and use the green/yellow to add shade

I always wanted to paint a model in a midnight scene, just black and greys with moonlight used as the highlight, like a grave robber scene etc

Yah, still not what I had in mind. I was thinking something just painted pure black and white, maybe something that is generally seen as quite colourful. Rather stylized, but I think it would look cool. Might pick up a box to do it with at some point and try it out.

Random note to self: Find an army that would be suitable to paint in only black and white. I think that'd look rad.

Raven Guard.

They're black and white by default, I don't think I made myself clear...

I just want to paint using only black and white, something that isn't usually black and white.

I understood you, so would you highlight the black into grey and the white start of cream or light grey into white?
