What are you doing today hobbywise?

I've continued to experiment with contrast paints and my version of speed ("speed") painting. I've painted two Knights, and hope I can get up to three or four a day, since I need fifteen of them before my next game day in two weeks time. I also need some dinosaurs, but I don't know whether I'm going to use contrasts, my old methods, or a combination on those two. My Knights are sloppy (as is, to a lesser extent, the Skink Priest I painted with contrasts) but right now I'm not taking the time to do back in to edit. I don't want my dinosaurs to look sloppy. I can get away with some slop on the smaller figures at "table distance" (even though I'll know it's there and it will bug me), but on the big models, you are definitely showing your work.

Last night I had a game night with my twin brother. We played two scenarios of our Battle Companies Campaign.
For the first battle we played 'Chance encounter' which basically is fight to get the opposing company below 25% of their starting total.
I won this one with one casualty on my side.
My brother had a lot more. One of his heroes became 'Lost in Battle' so he had to rescue him in the next scenario.

Because we had played 'A daring rescue' before (for one of my heroes) we changed it up a little. Instead of placing the lost hero in the center of the board he was placed in one of the houses (I knew which, my brother not). He had to find him by searching the houses. He found his hero in the first house he searched :( and due to some strategic movement was able to get him off the board to win the scenario.

Both our companies have grown with two models and looking more awesome as we go.
Here are some impressions of the games:

Grrr, Imrahil

And, got more time to hobby today, so I built my troops from the Dominion box. Ten orks and 20 hobgoblins built, next up is the heroes...

Still chipping away at my backlog. Currently painting some objective markers and preparing my Blood Bowl team for priming.

Been chipping away at an unofficial Lizardmen supplement for 4e WFRP lately. Outside of pure game mechanics however, I'm kind of at an impasse with how to proceed, seeing as it's not particularly great form to copy-paste entire lore pages out of the army books or the online wikis.

When I get a chance I'll upload what I have so far. What I'd really like help with however is with regards to Lizardmen demographics (both Lustrian and Southlands) for relevantly-themed Lizardmen RP, and maybe a bit on why or how Lizardmen might "take up" adventuring in the Old World (chances are under orders from a Slann or Skink Priest, but under what pretext?).

There is cutting corners and there is skipping the entire track :p
But seriously good thematic piece of scenery.

Grrr, Imrahil

:D

To be fair, I was inspired by my teenhood Warhammer opponent who did just the same to expand his already prodigious scenery collection - if you can't beat 'em, join 'em! ;)

And never fear, I have some scratch-built scenery coming up next in my painting blog!

It took a bit of searching, but after re-discovering @Scalenex 's population summary I've decided to use that to help establish demographic percentages for Lustrian and Southlands lizardmen populations. This was needed to produce percentile-based random species generators for both.

Lustria is full of threads (mostly made by @Scalenex ) which are truly hidden gems, filled with useful contents.

I took a break from painting and instead played around with Oyumaru.
Pics in my blog soon.
