8th Ed. New Lizardman army book and info

Yeah, that "Arcanadon" had a step-by-step building process in one White Dwarf- it's a Carnosaur with Krootox legs or something. There was a thing on how to construct the thing on its back from particle board and Lizardmen bits.

If this really is the real deal, I'm very pleased! Looks pretty ferocious, can't wait to see the whole model and actually the upcoming lizardmen release. But, if the terradons are getting renewed and lets say chameleons/kroxigor, we might end up with either some citadel finecast models (and not all plastic) or with the release of a single new unit.. And man, hope those cold ones are getting redone as well...

The new terradon head looks very nice. Glad I didn't buy any of the "old" models.
 
this just occured to me...if its big enough: it could be a Parasaurolophus head as well.

Hrrrmn. While Terradons do seem to have been replaced a lot, the current batch of Terradons didn't exactly get a good reception with those unnatural grins. It could be that GW has paid attention to that and decided to replace them with the new wave accordingly.

On MC... personally, I'd really rather they weren't Carnosaurs. The carnies are more akin to flightless dragons in role, so making them something suitable for a unit type that is typically deployed in ranks of three would require a substantial reduction in their power. I guess they could give us something bigger as "carnosaurs" and use something akin to the current carnosaur model for MC mounts - but I'd be more excited for something new.

(The purist in me would be looking for something Cretaceousesque, since with salamanders now being less of a Dimetrodon lookalike and more of a fantasy fire lizard, most of what we have that's genuinely dinosaurian is something that can vaguely fit into the late Cretaceous. Albeit twisted and sometimes mashed up between genuses.)
 
I'd also like to know the wd number as the eotg is an awesome model.

the dinos ive always loved have been the raptors stegosaurs and anklyosaurs. Not likely they will come out with something for them so I will be doing my own thing if I want them in an army.

Something bigger and badder than the carnosaur would be awesome!
 
just a spectulation here, about the time of the release of our book. I bet most of you noticed that GW releases one army in fantasy then one in 40k. rumor has it that space marines of 40k is going to come out september! if that is true does it fit with our specualtions? i mean we expect lizzardman to come out lets say August?
 
I've heard from a few people, including a hobby shop owner, that lizardmen are going to be done in July.
 
Ask any hobby store owner/person that has access to a current GW order form, they have releases with a 3 month advance plan.
I just hope they ruin my current army in a good way :).
 
A July release would be awesome, but everything I've read at Warseer points to Apacolypse in July and Lizardmen in August.
 
so yeah its apocalypse.....but the pieces they came out with are bloody amazing!!!!! It sucks being disappointed and excited at the same time.
