Old Schooler New to Lizzies

Stay tuned....life has been coming at me hard and fast...working a lot of late hours - but I should have an update for you guys soon!

I looked back and didn't realize how much progress I've made on my Kroxigors since my last photos were taken. I fully expect both of these minis to be done by Monday, and will bombard you with pictures then :)

Hey, just wanted to drop a line letting you guys know that these minis are done now. I can post more photos showing different views later in the week, but for now I have this one to share:

Let me know what you think, thanks :)

Very nice! Which one was the one that your son worked on? They both look great!

Hi Arli, my son worked on the one on the right, but that was long ago, before I decided to take these up to a commercial casting level of detail. Not too much of his work remains visible, but he's still going to be getting 25% of whatever I earn on these as a bonus to his allowance and incentive to keep on practicing his green stuff skills :)

I thought it was the one on the right. Tell him, good work too!

I should be mailing them off in a few days...not sure how long after that but it should be within a month at most. I will surely keep you all posted here. I would appreciate you all helping to get the word out when the time comes, thanks! :)

Here are some more photos for you guys while I'm working out the details of how these will be cast.

I have heard a few people say that they think scales on the faces, on the lower legs, more detail on the tails, etc. would be an improvement. I'm not sure...I feel they are done now but if there is a consensus about them needing more detail I can add it. Let me know what you think, and please do not attempt to spare my feelings :)

I think they look good as is. The whole idea of an alternate model is something that is out of the ordinary, different than usual. These models are great and I would readily buy them as they are.

They may look better with more detail. But i think they look great now. I vote done.

Wow, those guys are great. They look complete to me!

I think they look really cool as they are. The tail is one area that could definitely use a bit of improvement though. From the photos, it looks like there is a lot of light fine detail that is hard to see, so they probably look better in person. The only thing I would change is to extend the length of the tail a tiny bit in order for it to reach a sharper point rather than the rounded end since most LM models have fairly sharp tails. You could potentially put a ring on the tail and/or leg to add a touch of detail and contrast, but that would definitely be an optional thing.

Just wanted to add these photos to this log for the sake of completeness:

One flank of my army, going into action:

...the SKrox were later compelled to charge into a maga unit of Dwarf Longbeards courtesty of the Rune of Challenge, and were destroyed. A really aggravating tactic that the Dwarf player is using in EVERY game. Need to find a way to counter this...

Here's a frontal photo which I took to show the scale of the Lizard Ogres that I'm sculpting in comparison to the GW Krox.

Also shows my converted skink cohorts, who really need to be painted and finished! I must get on that... Is anyone else bothered by how much the GW Skink Chief miniature towers over the other GW plastic figures? Even the current plastic Skink brave?

Looking good as usual! The one krox with the more "clubby" type weapon looks like he's about to hit one out of the park lol. Seriously though, they look really good and I agree with those before me that having a variety of one type of model is always a good thing.

Lol, yea, I can almost see him moving it in a circle waiting for the pitch.
