Still need 6 more heads with either mount but the head plate needs horns and spikes.

I have to echo the sentiments that the massive engine of the gods on top looks amazing. I also really like the krox reins! In fact all of it is looking really amazing so far.

I do think the actual beast would benefit from more details like scales, but as you say that is not only difficult, but with the size of the model it would take AGES to scale it. I can't wait to see more updates!

MAJOR UPDATE:

OK so after picking up a compressor and airbrush kit from Harbor Frieght for $70.00 USD, I got to work painting the body of the Thunder Lizard. three pots of Bleach bone and 2 pots of Mechrite Red and 4 pots of Devlan Mud wash I finished the body, Details were added and additional conversions added to the platform systems. I have 1 last little conversion to add and paint before sticking on but then the Thunder Lizard is done and its crew needs to be painted. After that the terrain board needs work too...

Wow, I'm flabbergasted! The amount of paint, the color scheme, the use of all those stegadon bits. Who are you and have you returned from another planet to paint enormous models?!

So when is this monster going in to action and where are we at with the report? I demand my rights!

How to aptly describe what my eyes just took in...

It went something like this -

Death from awesome overload. Resurrection through sheer awesome. Mind drained of all thoughts and filled with the joy of a thousand children rolling in toys. All of this followed by the feeling of bouncing on marshmellow clouds with magical laser-wearing unicorns bent on the destruction of all the other races of Warhammer. Finally, there was death from awesome overload..and once again, resurrection from said awesomeness.


Unfortunately...that comes nowhere close, but that's the best I can do, given that I just recently recovered from the above. I'd sell a kidney or six for that thing!

If I had one comment, I don't think the blue eye on the beast suits it very well. Try to make an eye like a lizard.

I think pretty much every good quote still doesn't sum up the sheer awsomeness of this peice and i respect you for sticking with it as i assume it must of been quite tedious at some bits but im sure that you'll agree the end result is worth it, one thing, i'd reccomend spraypainting the trees leeaves, takes the plasticky look off them, and i assume your going to flcok the base.

Thank you all for all the comments. Keep them coming has it helps drive me on through the tough spots.

YES the trees will all be drybrushed and inked then drybrushed some more. The board is now flocked and painted. The river will be the last thing added as I need to paint all the Skink swimmers and get them in place before sealing them to their fate.

Hey there folks, just wanted to keep you updated. I have finished the skinks for two of the front leg platforms. I still have 14 more t o paint up for the rest not including the Skink priests for the top platforms.

I am also adding in an flying component to the display...a sqaudron of 6 terradons lead by Tiqtak-To. So those need to be primed and painted...

How long did it take you to convert and paint all of this?
Whatever it is it was definitely worth it as this is just stunning!

I can't think of anything else to say, as my brain is rather impaired...

I never thought I'd see anything more epic and Lizardmen-related than that one diorama they did when they released the Lustria book.... Then I go here, and my mind is blown away by this.... UNBELIEVABLY EPIC THING!!!! Really, when I read about the Thungder Lizards I thought to myself how epic it would be to see a modeled one and you sir, have reached beyond expectations I could only have dreamt to have. Amazing work, but as many others, the only thing that could make this more awesome than it already is would be some beastly scales on the back.
